Forming the Christian Conscience

University Ministry has collaborated with municipal entities, the Center for Women in Church and Society and other departments and organizations on and off campus to provide programming meant to form the Christian conscience among our students.

Programs include:

Providence Parish Internship

Student interns have the opportunity to work in areas such as Parish Office Ministry, Youth Ministry and Religious Education. As part of the internship experience, students have opportunities for theological reflection and weekly training in faith formation. The goal of the program is to engage students in direct ministry within the Hispanic community. Students are assigned a mentor from the parish and work closely with the Director of University Ministry on theological formation.

Providence Retreat Outreach

Students work with University Ministry to plan a series of retreats throughout the school year. Students develop and lead the retreats.

Conversations on Christianity: Spirituality and Morality

An evening of conversation concerning Christian spirituality and morality for students. These meetings provide a safe space for students to explore questions and concerns about faith, religious practices and moral qualities within the campus community and society at large.
