Spring 2022 semester updates
Face-to-face classes to resume Jan. 24, 2022
After two weeks of virtual classes, OLLU will return to face-to-face classes on Jan. 24, 2022.
Courses listed as “lecture” in the course schedule are face-to-face classes and will begin meeting in person according to their scheduled class days, times and locations. Courses listed as “hybrid” or “hyflex” may have a face-to-face component. Students in these courses should consult with their professor about when classes will meet in person.
Surgical or KN95 masks should be worn on campus
OLLU continues to require masks for all individuals on our campuses -- both vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Masks must be worn in classrooms, hallways, meeting spaces and other common areas in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Recent information released by the CDC indicates that KN95 and surgical (also called medical procedure) masks provide greater protection than cloth masks. KN95 or surgical masks should be worn in classrooms and other spaces where students and employees gather.
OLLU has a new attendance verification process
Students must attend/participate in class to avoid being dropped from courses
OLLU is introducing a new attendance verification/participation process this semester. Students must attend/participate in each course they are taking. Participation can take many forms, for example, posting to a discussion board, submitting a response paper or taking a quiz. Check with your instructor if you are not sure that your participation is clear. This includes all courses even remote and online courses. Students who do not attend/participate in class by the deadline will be dropped from the course.
Students should contact their professors if they are having any issues attending and/or participating in class.
Deadlines for Faculty to verify your attendance/participation are as follows:
- San Antonio Traditional Session Students – Jan. 14, 2022
- Fast Track A, Weekend I and National Online Session Students – Jan. 15, 2022
- Weekend II Session Students – Jan. 23, 2022
- Fast Track B Session Students – March 12, 2022
This new process has been developed to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations dealing with financial aid and to prevent students from incurring any unnecessary debt.
