Our Lady of the Lake University (“OLLU”) is committed to protecting your privacy and communicating with students, applicants, and members of the University community transparently and responsibly. This page outlines how OLLU uses SMS/text messaging, how individuals provide consent, and how recipients may manage their communication preferences.
Consent
When you opt in to receive SMS/text messages from OLLU, you consent to receive recurring automated and/or personalized text messages related to admissions, enrollment, academics, student services, campus engagement, university events, and other University-related communications.
Consent to receive SMS/text messages is not required as a condition of admission, enrollment, employment, or receipt of University services.
OLLU does not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent records are protected and will not be sold, rented, or shared for marketing purposes.

Opt-Out Instructions
OLLU respects your right to opt out of SMS/text messaging communications at any time. To stop receiving text messages from OLLU, reply STOP to any message.
You may also reply with any of the following terms: QUIT, END, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE.
After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.

Privacy and Student Information
OLLU protects student information consistent with applicable privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”).
OLLU will not transmit highly sensitive educational records through SMS/text messaging, including grades, transcripts, Social Security numbers, disability accommodation information, Title IX investigation information, detailed financial aid information, or other confidential student records. Where appropriate, OLLU may direct recipients to secure University systems or official University email for additional information.
Supported Carriers
SMS/text messaging is supported by most major U.S. wireless carriers. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Changes to These Terms
OLLU may update these SMS Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this webpage with a revised effective date.
