Social Work Distance Education Conference
Removing Barriers and Expanding Borders Through Social Work Distance Education
April 14-16, 2021 • Sheraton Gunter Hotel • San Antonio • Texas
Hosted by: Our Lady of the Lake University Worden School of Social Service
The 2021 SWDE conference theme, Removing Barriers and Expanding Borders Through Social Work Distance Education, will transition from the 2020 SWDE conference that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Much appreciation is extended to the educators and practitioners who were selected to share their best practices in pedagogical approaches to removing barriers within social work distance education and expanding education beyond the stereotypical boundaries.
In addition to transitioning all requested presentations selected for the 2020 conference, two specialty focuses have been added for the 2021 conference to include the 2020 Pandemic Experience and Deconstructing Racism. With these additional tracks, we are seeking to explore how the 2020 pandemic and ethical responsibility of deconstructing racism impacts all aspects of social work distance learning within the context of the transitioned theme of Removing Barriers and Expanding Borders Through Social Work Distance Education.
A hybrid conference format is planned for the 2021 conference offering both onsite and a streamlined virtual attendee opportunity.
Thank you to our sponsors for their support of the 6th annual Social Work Distance Education Conference.
