Campus Activities and Achievements: OLLU women's soccer team for four years and won two conference championships; worked for Campus Recreation; took part in OLLU's award-winning Fiesta Parade floats and the Confetti Runs with the Event Services staff.
Impact of OLLU: As a student athlete, OLLU gave me the chance to continue my education and soccer career. I have been blessed to have learned from both the biology department staff and athletic coaches, while also getting the opportunity to collaborate and participate in numerous campus events.

I transferred from Alamo Colleges to Our Lady of the Lake University with the ambition of furthering my education in psychology. During my first semester, I was fearful of failing and not fitting in because I did not begin my first two years at a four-year university. Thankfully, OLLU's faculty, staff, and the McNair Scholars Program guided me and made feel a part of the community.

Impact of OLLU: OLLU has impacted my life in a way that I couldn't imagine. From the very first day, I didn't feel far from home, I knew that I was meant to be here. Now that I think about it, it was all Providence. I also felt accepted for who I was as a person and that was thanks to Father Mario Serrano. Furthermore, during these past four years of my life, I have met amazing people and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I found in OLLU the opportunity to continue an education that I thought was out of reach, but I was able to receive several scholarships and grants that helped me get through this journey with peace of mind.
