OLLU held hybrid commencement ceremonies for spring 2021 graduates with in-person and virtual events on May 8. 

The day began with a special event for graduates who are veterans at 9 a.m. It was followed by the Baccalaureate Liturgy at 11 a.m. and a Hooding Ceremony for Doctoral and MFA graduates at 3:30 p.m.

The Commencement Address Ceremony began at 5 p.m. and was followed by a drive-up Degree Conferral Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Graduates processed through the Main Building Plaza, in their vehicles, to receive their diploma, have their picture taken with President Diane E. Melby and have their degree conferred in front of the Main Building. Guests had "front-row" seats  as they watched from the vehicle as it passed in front of the commencement stage.
