Rudy Garza, CPS Energy Vice President of External Relations
Rudy Garza oversees CPS Energy’s federal and state legislative agenda
and provides outreach to city governments in San Antonio and suburban
cities in the CPS Energy service territory. Before joining CPS Energy in
2012, Garza served as assistant city manager and as intergovernmental
relations director in Corpus Christi. He also worked for TXU Corporation
in Dallas for 13 years.

Ric Martinez, OLLU Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management
Dr. Martinez is a professor of healthcare administration at Our Lady
of the Lake University. He was the owner and principal healthcare
consultant with Healthcare Best Practices Consultants. He also served as
the Research Compliance Officer with the Department of Medicine at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has 48
years of experience in consulting, management and professional practice
in nursing, academia, biomedical research, medico-legal advisement,
health promotion, research compliance and ethics, ambulatory care
management, hospital administration, community health, healthcare total
quality management programming, health planning, and epidemiology.

Steven Wise, MA, MLIS, is Associate Professor of Learning Resources and Instruction Librarian at OLLU
Earned his BA and MA in Political Science from St. Mary's University and
an MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin. Has been an instructor
in the Mexican American Studies Department, teaching Mexican Americans
in U.S. Society, Contexts of Mexican American Leadership, Mexican
Americans and the Law, and the Chicano Movement. Research interests
include 20th Century Mexican American history, the Chicano Movement and
Latino genealogy.

Ramon Flores, Executive Director of the Westside Development Corporation (WDC)
WDC priorities are job creation, real estate development, business
expansion and attraction, promotion of the area, and policy change. Mr.
Flores worked for Fannie Mae for 9 years, in both Dallas and San
Antonio. Earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard College and MBA from
Southern Methodist University. Board Member of Family Service
Association, Member of United Way’s Strengthening Families Issues
Council, and Advisory Board Member of the Westside Education and
Training Center.

Teresita Aguilar, Currently the Director of the Center for Mexican
American Studies and Research and tenured Professor of Education at Our
Lady of the Lake University
Her B.A is from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor University and both
graduate degrees were granted by the University of North Texas. She
holds an M.S. in Therapeutic Recreation and her doctorate is in Higher
Education with an emphasis in college teaching. Taught Multicultural
Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, led international
immersion experiences and delivered faculty and staff development in
cultural competence.

Maribel Larraga, Chair of the Department of Languages, Communication and Creative Arts and Spanish Professor
Larraga teaches
Spanish language courses and literature and culture of Latin America,
Mexico and the Mexican American people of the U.S. Uses Service-Learning
pedagogy in her advanced classes. Has conducted research in Spain and
Mexico. Her doctorate in Spanish Colonial Narrative is from the
University of New Mexico. She is originally from Veracruz, Mexico. Is a
recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities grant in and
participated in a NEH summer seminar at the University of Missouri in
Columbia. |
