FACULTY
COMMUNICATION AND LEARNING DISORDERS DEPARTMENT

Faculty members in the CDIS Program have either a doctoral or master’s degree in communication disorders, are licensed by the state of Texas and have earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA. Several of the faculty are regionally and nationally recognized in their areas of expertise which include: child language disorders, aphasia and adult neurogenic disorders, bilingual language development and disorders, augmentative communication, dysphagia, and assessment and intervention with infants and toddlers. Faculty engage in research, publish articles in scholarly journals and make presentations at state and national professional conferences. Students are often involved in the faculty research projects and presentations.
