Dear Student,

On behalf of the Financial Aid Office at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), I would like to welcome you to our campus.  Our mission is to provide excellent customer service while providing assistance with financing your education at OLLU.  We encourage you to come by our office and visit with our staff.  We can guide you through our application process. 

The first steps toward receiving financial aid assistance are:

• Apply for a PIN number from the U.S. Department of Education
• Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – this application is the tool that qualifies you for various types of financial aid 
• List OLLU’s school code 003598 on the FAFSA as one of the schools you plan to attend – this allows us to electronically download  the information you submit on your FAFSA into our system for processing

You can apply for your PIN number and complete the FAFSA by visiting our website at www.ollusa.edu or by visiting the Department of Education’s website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. 

The FAFSA should be completed no later than May 1 of each academic year in which you are enrolled in order to ensure that your financial aid will be processed by the start of the fall semester.

Once you have completed the FAFSA and listed OLLU as one of the universities which you plan to attend, our office will:

• Examine your FAFSA information for accuracy
• Send you any additional forms that we may need completed in order to award your financial aid

After all of your paperwork is complete, we will mail you an award letter listing the many types of financial aid we can offer you. Once you receive an award letter from us, we invite you to come into our office and let us counsel you on your awards.
