Admisions Requirements
MASTER OF EDUCATION FOR NON-TRADITIONAL CERTIFICATION
Regular
Admission
To be considered for admission into the MENTC
Program, applicants must submit or verify the following:
- Official transcripts indicating an undergraduate degree
conferred from a regionally accredited university;
- obtained an overall undergraduate grade point average
of at least 2.75 or a 3.00 for the last 60 hours of the bachelor's degree
(note: achievement of the minimum academic requirements does not
guarantee admission into the program);
- obtained a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record
Exam (GRE) within the last five years;
- two letters of professional or academic recommendation
not more than a year old (forms supplied by the University);
- a current professional resume;
- a letter of intent explaining why the applicant wishes
to change careers into education;
- verified local and state Criminal History Record; and
- be interviewed by Education Department faculty.
Conditional Admission
Conditional acceptance
is granted on the merits of each case. In
some circumstances, applicants who do not meet all the requirements for regular
admission may be admitted conditionally, providing they fulfill the conditions
listed in their letters of conditional acceptance within the specified period
of time. If conditional acceptance is
given because of missing official credentials, the period of time to provide
those documents will not extend beyond the first term of attendance.
