Regular Admission

To be considered for admission into the MENTC Program, applicants must submit or verify the following:

  • Official transcripts indicating an undergraduate degree conferred from a regionally accredited university;
  • obtained an overall undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.75 or a 3.00 for the last 60 hours of the bachelor's degree (note: achievement of the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee admission into the program);
  • obtained a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) within the last five years;
  • two letters of professional or academic recommendation not more than a year old (forms supplied by the University);
  • a current professional resume;
  • a letter of intent explaining why the applicant wishes to change careers into education;
  • verified local and state Criminal History Record; and
  • be interviewed by Education Department faculty.

Conditional Admission

Conditional acceptance is granted on the merits of each case.  In some circumstances, applicants who do not meet all the requirements for regular admission may be admitted conditionally, providing they fulfill the conditions listed in their letters of conditional acceptance within the specified period of time.  If conditional acceptance is given because of missing official credentials, the period of time to provide those documents will not extend beyond the first term of attendance.
