Pronounced "cabassa" it is a South American instrument. Cabacas are made of large gourds or steel. This cabaca is a large gourd. The beads make the rattling sound as it is twirled in the hand. The beads can also be tapped softly, in rhythm, to make a different sound. Cabassa bought in Rio de Janerio, Brazil in January 1959.
