Bachelor of Arts in Drama

Designed to meet the needs of students who wish to be directors, producers, stage managers and theater managers, OLLU offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama that prepares students for employment in theater or admission into graduate theater programs by providing them with creative, technical and management skills needed to be successful in their field of study.

The program offers courses in acting, playwriting, theater history, and technical production to give students a better understanding of what a director, producer, or theater manager needs to know about he creative and technical aspects of theater. The professional, conservatory like style of teaching creates an interactive learning environment where students are involved at all levels of production.

Drama students have the opportunity to:
  • Direct three plays before they graduate
  • Direct and exhibit their plays in the annual 24th Street Theater Senior Showcase

The Drama department produces two theatrical productions a year, giving students the opportunity to work alongside their professors as stage managers, assistant directors and technical directors.

A minor in drama is also available.
