The programs offered through the School of Business and Leadership emphasize the economy of the United States' Southwest and its growing relationship with Mexico. All of our business programs qualify for OLLU's dual-language track, which will enable students to work professionally in English or Spanish.

Bachelor of Business Administration
The Business Department offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Students who major in accounting work as accountants or auditors in almost any sector, including government, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit companies. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow 16 percent from 2010-2020 since the demand for thorough financial documentation is expected to increase in response to recent financial crises.
Upon completion of this degree, graduates can seek certification in an accounting-related area such as the Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Financial Planner credentials. Those who wish to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam must go on to receive a Master of Science in Accounting.
Accounting majors have the opportunity to join the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA). ALPFA works to enhance opportunities for business students while expanding Latino leadership in the global workforce and advancing the Latino culture in the professional business community.
Computer Information Systems and Security
The Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Computer Information Systems and Security (CISS) emphasizes the business aspects of computer information systems and security and prepares students to serve in a liaison role between information technology and the other business functions of an organization.
The Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Economics provides students with entry-level expertise in several areas of applied economics, which includes international trade, industrial organization, money and banking, financial institutions, econometrics, public finance, health care, oil and energy production, labor and industrial relations, the development of less developed nations, and a variety of other fields. Students studying economics are highly sought after by businesses and governments and often pursue careers in industries such as banking, finance, management, health care, education, private consulting and international development.
The economics concentration at OLLU is flexible and allows students the opportunity to choose from an array of elective courses. Therefore, students are able to enroll in courses that are consistent with their overall career objectives. There is also the ability to pursue the economics concentration along with another BBA concentration for a double major.
For students considering graduate studies, the economics concentration offers excellent preparation for an MBA program, law school or doctoral studies in a related discipline.

Our Lady of the Lake University offers a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Finance for students who are interested in a career related to finance, investments, and banking. Upon graduation, Finance majors will be prepared to work in a wide spectrum of financial institutions and markets. Career opportunities exist in such diverse fields as securities, commercial banking, portfolio analysis and financial advising.
A degree in management prepares students for the important task of getting work accomplished through collaborative efforts with others in an organization. Students with a degree in management may expect to coordinate service and manufacturing operations, manage product/service development in a project environment, or even manage their own business.
Our Lady of the Lake University offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing that is designed to prepare students to enter and/or enhance their marketing knowledge so to become successful managers, designers, consultants and entrepreneurs in marketing, sales, advertising, and marketing research. According the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for marketing managers is expected to grow 41 percent from 2010 to 2020, and marketing will continue to be essential for organizations as they seek to maintain and expand their share of the market.
Bachelor of Applied Studies
The Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in Business provides an opportunity for students to apply prior life and job experience toward a degree. Many students returning to school with broad experience find that the BAS allows them to match their specific experiences with appropriate coursework. The curriculum includes the latest developments in global business using advanced technology within societal and ethical considerations. Students learn from business-experienced faculty and executive partners from local enterprises.

Computer Information Systems and Security
The Bachelor of Applied Studies degree in Computer Information Systems and Security (CISS) is offered at OLLU's Rio Grande Valley campus, located in La Feria, Texas. The program, certified by the National Security Agency (NSA) is designed for IT professionals, and technical school and community college students with an associate's degree in Information Technology or Telecommunications.
Credit from your associate's degree in an IT field will be applied to the bachelor's degree, and additional credits will be completed through OLLU's weekend program. Students must have earned 18 or more credit hours in a specific CIS-related technical field prior to being enrolled at OLLU to be eligible for the BAS program.
