OPPORTUNITES FOR ALL OLLU STUDENTS

The Higher Achievement through Leadership Opportunities (HALO) Program is a unique leadershipcertificate program that compliments OLLU academic curriculum with co-curricular activities to enhance student leadership in three core values of Family, Community, and Professionalism.

The three levels; bronze, silver and gold experiences and opportunities are designed to help students gain or improve self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management skills that will be transferable to future career success.

HALO is not a student organization or positional leadership. Every student has the opportunity to have a leadership experience at OLLU. The four leadership theories utilized at OLLU include; Authentic Leadership, Servant Leadership, Transformational Leadership and Charismatic Leadership. These theories, along with the three core values, reflect how leadership is embraced at OLLU.

LIFE PROGRAM

The leadership Institute for Freshman Excellence (LIFE) os a freshman leadership co-curricular opportunity that is available in the fall semester. LIFE members meet new people, develop new skills, and enhance their college experience through fun-filled sessions and activities. All LIFE members receive an upperclass mentor who serves as their peer support.

FIRST YEAR CONNECTION

The First Year Connection (FYC) student mentors provide freshmen with programs and activities that ease their transition into college life. FYC assists with University's Lake Days, Lake Orientation, Right Foot Week and also serve as group leaders, classroom peer mentors in the Applications of learning courses, and LIFE mentors.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the voice of the student body and includes all University students as members. Students can get involved on campus by sharing opinions, questions, and ideas. The goal of SGA is to build community among students, faculty, staff and administration while focusing on civic engagement, social justice and servant leadership. All students are automatically SGA members and are encouraged to be contributing members of their community by participating in SGA-sponsored events.

UNIVERSITY PROGRAMMING COUNCIL

The University Programming Council (UPC) is all about programming for the student body. UPC coordinates many major functions and events on campus such as concerts, comedy shows, game shows, casino nights, multicultural programs and much more. The UPC team works together on creative publicity campaigns that are eye catching so OLLU students know where the next event is on campus. UPC events range from entertaining to educational.
