PSYCHOLOGY DEGREE WITH BILITERATE OPTION
Understanding the language and culture of mental health clients is essential for successful counseling and treatment. Students who major or minor in psychology and add a biliterate option will be ready to serve English and Spanish-speaking clients in schools, mental health clinics, businesses and government agencies.
Course Requirements:
- Advanced Spanish Grammar, Reading, Composition I, II
- Counseling in Spanish or Latino Psychology
- Choose one of the following:
- Civilization and Culture of Spain
- Civilization and Culture of Latin America
- Civilization and Culture of Mexico
- Spanish in the United States
- Mexican American Prose and Poetry
- Practicum in Spanish-speaking setting with capstone project (Psychology Practicum)
