Communication Arts Degree with Biliterate Option
With the growing Hispanic population (now the nation’s largest minority group), bilingual communication professionals (English/Spanish) are in demand. Students who plan to major or minor in communication arts can choose the biliterate option. The program prepares graduates for careers with any organization or media outlet that serves Hispanics including television and radio stations, advertising agencies, government agencies, corporations and non-profit organizations.
Course Requirements:
- Advanced Spanish Grammar, Reading, Composition I, II
- Professional Oral and Written Communication in Spanish
- Choose one of the following:
- Civilization and Culture of Spain
- Civilization and Culture of Latin America
- Civilization and Culture of Mexico
- Spanish in the United States
- Mexican American Prose and Poetry
- Practicum or internship in Spanish-speaking setting or one semester of study abroad in Spanish-speaking country with capstone project
