Child Language & Language Disorders Recently Reopened
The Child Language & Language Disorders Clinic and Research Lab was recently re-opened and new camera and audio and video recording equipment was installed with grant funding from the San Antonio Area Foundation, Baptist Health Foundation, and the Elizabeth Huth Coates Foundation. The new Cisco equipment and software makes it possible, through two cameras and a split screen image, to capture and record a child’s facial and bodily behaviors during communication as well as their language, and to analyze the sequence and timing of these behaviors. The videos are saved on a protected and secure server for limited access. The new equipment supports the evaluation and therapy needs of children with language delay and disorders.
