OLLU gave me the opportunity to further my education. I am a non-traditional student and a single parent. Weekend College was a godsend. It was the only way I could complete my education. Earning my bachelor’s degree has allowed me to change career paths with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs where I currently work.

Finishing my degree at The Lake has given me a sense of accomplishment. I’ve gone to school for six years while working full-time at USAA. I’ve learned a lot, met different people and made new friends. I cam because I was at a standstill in my career. Going into management is my goal.

I enjoyed the small class sizes that enabled me to interact more freely with my professors and classmates. It made it possible for my classmates and me to learn from each other and create a sense of family. It also helped me feel more comfortable to ask questions in class.
Becky Martinez, BBA Business ’09
I had a couple of professors at the Lake who were very entrepreneurial, who helped me advance my career at USAA.
