Saxophone – Clarinet

Larry Loden is instructor of saxophone and clarinet at Our Lady of the Lake University. He holds a Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Georgia, and a Masters of Wood Wind Performance from Texas State University. Mr. Loden served with the United States Pacific Headquarters Band in Honolulu, Hawaii, performing on clarinet, flute, and saxophone. As a wood wind performer, he has presented concerts throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central America. He has taught at the University of the Incarnate Word, Saint Phillips Community College, and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. At the secondary level he has been a band director in Atlanta GA – Alice, TX – Bonham, TX – San Antonio, TX.

His professional recording experience has been in writing, arranging, and performing for jingles, movie sound tracks, and commercial recordings. He has performed with the following: George Duke, Gladys Knight, Gordon Goodwin, Duke Pearson, Michael Feinstein, Jon Faddis, Marvin Stamm, Cat Anderson, Eddie Daniels, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Jack Jones, Perry Como, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Ray Charles, Cab Callaway, Rich Little, Robert Merrill, Patrice Munsell, Roberta Peters, Tom Jones, Alvin Ailey Dancers, The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Spinners, Charlie Rich, Kenny Rodgers, Linda Ronstadt, Shoji Tubuchi, Shirley Bassey, Patti Page, Helen O’Connell, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn, B. J. Thomas, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Holiday on Ice, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Guy Lombardo Orchestra…

In Atlanta, Ga. he has performed with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, The Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, and Broadway Touring Shows Pit Orchestra. In San Antonio Tx. he has performed with The Zephyr Flute Trio, The San Antonio Saxophone Quartet, The Loop Saxophone Quartet, The San Antonio Jazz Orchestra, The Prime Time Jazz Orchestra, Mixed Emotions Jazz Orchestra, The San Antonio Symphony, The San Antonio Opera Orchestra, Broadway Touring Shows Pit Orchestra, The San Antonio Municipal Band, and The San Antonio Wind Symphony.

He has also played with the Mid Texas Symphony, and he has conducted the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Dallas Symphony.
