Background:
Dr. Grovijahn has taught at OLLU for 10 years. She served as chair of the department of religious studies and theology for six years. Currently, she is the faculty liaison for the minor in Women's Studies.
"I have maintained deep roots to the Center for Women in Church and Society, the Center for Mexican American Studies as well as help plant the seeds of vocation through the generosity of the La Llamada program. I delight in little things: like looking for ways to bring the powerful charism of Divine Providence into our classrooms; uncovering new opportunities to be a better educator through service-learning pedagogy; and the everyday possibility for transformation we find in our classrooms when I am reminded of the power and beauty of our student’s lives."
"My two most powerful memories of OLLU: the morning after the May ‘08 fire when we all rose to our feet for a standing ovation and demonstrated our love for the women who founded this University: The Congregation of Divine Providence. The other would be standing out in front of the grotto, calling on the four directions to help us memorialize our friend and colleague, Dr. Bernardino Verastique."
