  • Doctorate in Spanish America Colonial Narrative, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque 
Background and Accomplishments: 
Dr. Lárraga currently chairs the department of Foreign Languages and Biliterate Studies; serves as the Faculty advisor for La Sociedad Hispana Cultural, a recognized special interest student organization; and for Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honor Society, at OLLU.  She has been recognized as the Most Valuable advisor, in 1999 and 2002, by the office of the Student Life Division at OLLU. She has served as a Ronald E. MacNair Scholar mentor and continues to serve as Mentor for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at OLLU. 

Dr. Lárraga has conducted research in Spain, Mexico, and the U.S.; has presented at national and international conferences; and has published in the U.S. and in Mexico.  She was a recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities grant in 2003 and participated in a summer seminar on Afro-Hispanic writers and literature.  She was named OLLU’s Moody Professor in 2006.
