An overview of topics in the area of educational technology. Topics include terminology, applications, hardware systems, social issues, ethical issues and historical trends.

Advance Assignment / Course Orientation
To prepare for the kickoff of this course, please do the following advance assignments:

Log into Lake Online by following the login instructions below. Once the course is live, you will be able to access it from your main menu. Spend time browsing through the course calendar, syllabus, assignment dropbox and discussion board areas. Note that the first discussion board item asks that you provide some biographical information about yourself.
Plan to meet on the day of scheduled Weekend College orientation for an online chat session. This session is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (CST) and you should attend by going to our Lake Online course - Home - Orientation Chat (link located on homepage). I will provide a real-time overview of the course guidelines and expectations. See you there!

For successful completion of course requirements, you should be able to log in to Lake Online have access to a computer with Internet connection, and have access to basic productivity applications standard to teacher public school workstations (Microsoft Office suite: word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, databases, basic html, presentation)
