What is NetLibrary?

It is a collection of Sueltenfuss library’s “eContent” that allows users to access the digital version of books. The collection consists of over 47,000 books that cover a broad array of academic subjects. Users can change the interface language when browsing the collection. Languages include Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, etc. NetLibrary is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sueltenfuss Library does not have access to electronic audio books or eJournals within NetLibrary. To view online journals go to Journals in the OLLU Library on Sueltenfuss library’s homepage.

Access the database from the library’s homepage by clicking on E-books. OLLU faculty, staff, and students can access the collection off-campus by logging in with their OLLU username and password.

OLLU students, faculty, and staff can also access the eContent by browsing Sueltenfuss library’s online catalog (Webcat). If you are browsing the library’s catalog from off campus and would like to access an ebook, you will need to log in or create a free NetLibrary account as a member of Sueltenfuss Library. Once you have created an account you can access the OLLU eContent collection.

Basic Searching

Basic searching is the default search query on NetLibrary’s homepage. Enter a keywordor words in the search field. User’s can keep the field type as full-text or change it to keyword. Other options include title, author, and subject.

Note: Publicly accessible books- NetLibrary only allows the viewing of one eBook per person. By selecting publicly accessible books, multiple users can view an eBook at any time. The book does not have to be checked out. This option is located on the right side of NetLibrary’s homepage under the “In Our Collection” section.


Advanced Searching

Advanced searching allows users to combine keywords with search operators that are query words that help users limit their searches.

Search Operators:

“And,” “Or,” “Not,” “Near” are different query words that users can choose. For help using these terms click the question mark next to the And.


Limit your search (optional)

Limit your search by the year the item was published, language, or format. The default format is eBook because Sueltenfuss Library’s collection only consists of the digital version of books.

User’s can sort the results by rank, title, author, newest first, or oldest first. On the right side of the search results page, there is a list of recent searches and related topics which are tools to help users. In order to view the contents of a book, click on View this eBook.

View an eBook

Content- This is an option that allows users to browse through the entire book by clicking on a specific chapter or section.

eContent details- Shows the publication information for the eBook. Users can email this information or add to their favorite’s folder for future references.

Notes- When users create a free account with NetLibrary they can write notes in eBooks that they viewing. In order to create an account, click on Create a free account.

*Copyright restrictions*

Users can copy and print selections from a full-text eContent item. Users can only print one page from an eBook. Printing an entire book, or item violates the copyright laws. NetLibrary will send the user a warning message if the user shows an excessive activity of printing or copying.
