Sr. Isabel Ball, CDP
PhD, Professor of Chemistry

With an MA. and PhD. from the University of Texas at Austin, Sister Isabel Ball has held appointments in research at the Clayton Foundation for Biochemical Research (University of Texas) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She served as Adjunct Graduate Chemistry Lecturer at St. Mary's University from 1974 to 1980. As a director of undergraduate research from 1973 to 1978, she is coauthor with her students on some 20 papers in addition to 11 monographs. She has served on advisory boards for the Minority Biomedical Research Program of United Colleges of San Antonio and Alamo Area Citizens Workshops on Energy Issues. From 1983-1985 she served as Trichair of the Biosciences Task Force of the Target90 Commission of the City of San Antonio. She has been active in the San Antonio Section of the American Chemical Society having served as Treasurer, Secretary and Chairperson. She taught mathematics, biology and chemistry at the high school level before joining the faculty of OLLU.
