HEALTH INSURANCE REQUIREMENT
(updated October 11, 2013)
- OLLU STUDENTS (excludes 100% online students and students over 65 years of age) registered for 7 or more hours are required to have health insurance coverage either through this student insurance plan or through an individual or family managed plan. Students who are registered for 7 or more hours are automatically enrolled in the insurance plan at registration. The premium is added to the student’s account. Once a student is officially registered they may waive coverage in the insurance plan by completing an online waiver form available through their OLLU portal page. There is a waiver period deadline and that information will be posted by the Student Business Office. Late waivers will not be considered and posted charges will remain.
- INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS enrolled in 1 or more credit hours will automatically be enrolled in the insurance plan at registration. The premium is added to the student’s account. International students may not waive the insurance. It is mandatory for International students.
- MASTER DEGREE or PhD candidate students registered for less than 7 hours may enroll in the insurance coverage on a voluntary basis no later than 30 days after the first day of the coverage period enrolling date. Voluntary enrollment is coordinated directly through Student Assurance and the student. The student will need to directly contact student assurance at www.sas-mn.com. There is no automatic charge to the students account. Payment arrangements are made directly with Student Assurance.
Students taking the following courses are not eligible to enroll
in the insurance plan: distance learning courses; students solely taking
off-campus internet, home study, correspondence, or television courses; courses
taken for audit.
Please consult the brochure or Master Policy for details and effective
is not automatically renewed. Students must re-enroll when coverage terminates
to maintain continuous coverage.
