Student Support Services (SSS)

Our Mission

Student Support Services (SSS) provides opportunities for academic development by assisting first-generation college students, students with disabilities, or financially disadvantaged students with basic college requirements as well as motivates students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education in order to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.

Student Support Services assists students in some of the following ways:
  • Academic advising
  • Class schedule planning
  • Cultural and social events
  • Workshops on student survival skills
  • Career counseling and exploration
  • Scholarship, grant, and internship assistance
  • Computer lab and study area
  • Graduate school campus visits
  • Textbook library

Eligibility Criteria
OLLU students who meet the following: 
  • You are a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • You have a need for academic support
  • And you meet one or more of the following:
    • You are a first-generation college student (neither parent has a four-year degree) OR
    • You meet low income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education OR
    • You have a documented physical or learning disability on file with the Office of Disability Services or Texas Rehabilitation Commission
