BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PSYCHOLOGY
The Psychology Department offers majors a wide range of options at OLLU. Not only will you have the choice of concentrating in pre-counseling, research or both, you can participate in our dual-language program, which will enable you to work professionally in either Spanish or English. Plus, we offer certificates in Violence Prevention and Intervention and Gerontology—areas where there is great need for expertise in society. Students may also take coursework toward a marketable certificate in Biofeedback.
In addition, our undergraduate program provides opportunities to conduct psychological research with faculty. You will also have the opportunity to become involved in Psi Chi, the National Honor Society for psychology majors and minors.
Training for Bilingual (Spanish-English) Students
The OLLU Psychology Department offers training for students and professionals who wish to provide services to Spanish speaking populations. The goal of the training is to produce professionals who are as confident and compentent providing services in Spanish as they are in English. Undergraduate students may choose to complete the Biliterate program, in which students take one or more Psychology courses in Spanish and complete a pre-counseling practicum course at a site that serves Spanish speaking populations.
