Liberal studies provides the broadest education possible, allowing you to explore a wide range of subjects in the fine arts, English, history, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences, philosophy, religious studies and social studies. This is a good major for students interested in sampling from many core subject areas. On the San Antonio campus, this is the major for those pursuing intermediate teacher certification (grades 4-8) as well as for students interested in a deeper study of kinesiology (human movement). 


Students interested in liberal studies can choose:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in liberal studies
  • Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in liberal studies
