LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM
Our Lady of the Lake University offers a Latin American Studies program, with emphasis on Mexico, that allows students to gain experience in language, international business and cultural studies. Students enrolled in the program take a 15-hour block of courses, in addition to eight credit hours in elementary Spanish.
The two year program includes participation in an intensive summer language program at OLLU and a five-week internship sponsored by the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Queretaro, Mexico. Thanks to a grant from the National Security Education Program, nine students per year have the opportunity to participate.
Tuition fees and room and board associated with the program are covered during the internship in Mexico. Participating students receive University grants-in-aid to offset the cost of summer tuition charges. During the fall and spring terms, tuition and other charges are the responsibility of program participants.
