SPRING 2013 ISSUE
Message from Family Relations Coordinator,
Alma C.Bustillo, MS
Greetings SAINTS Families!
Spring 2013 is here and the Family Relations Office is continuing to grow and bring new opportunities for families to stay connected with the OLLU community.
This coming weekend on Sunday, April 21, OLLU will host our annual Fiesta® event “Best of the West.” OLLU families are invited to join students, faculty, staff, alumni and other guests as we enjoy a day of food, fun and music while we raise funds for scholarships. Read more about it in our newsletter.
As was communicated earlier in the semester, OLLU has welcomed a new president, Sister Jane Ann Slater, CDP, PhD. She took office March 12. This newsletter offers you an opportunity to learn more about our new leader.
The Family Relations Office has also kicked off the Family Legacy Brick campaign to benefit the Lake Fund, which provides scholarships to OLLU students. Each family brick costs a $100 and will be placed in a specially designated area of St. Anthony’s Courtyard dedicated to all OLLU Families. Bricks can hold up to three lines of text and can be purchased in honor of your OLLU student, to celebrate your family legacy or to memorialize the passing of a loved one. Please call the Family Relations Office at 210-434-6711, ext. 8219, should you wish to purchase a Family Legacy Brick. The Family Relations Office will hold a dedication ceremony at the next Family Weekend scheduled on Oct. 26, 2013, should you wish to participate in this ceremony, your family legacy brick(s) must be purchased by Sept. 1, 2013.
In closing, I would like to congratulate all upcoming graduates and their families. It will be exciting to see the graduates cross the stage on May 4 at Freeman Coliseum. Your hard work and dedication has paid off!
