Adding 'Arts' to STEM: A Culturally Relevant STEAM

In celebration of the 11th annual Center for Mexican American Studies and Research conference, we will showcase and promote student and faculty scholarly and creative activities which contribute to a broader and deeper understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines and the place for the Arts and Culture in engaging more students in these fields of study.
The two-day conference will include a Student Scholarly & Creative Activity Symposium for undergraduate and graduate students and a STEAM Institute for professional development of faculty and staff in secondary and post-secondary education settings.
The Conference culminates with an Award Recognition and Scholarship Banquet on the evening of Friday, March 28, 2014.
