The Computer Information Systems and Security programs at Our Lady of the Lake University prepare graduates for the wide ranging field of information technology through hands-on experience with emerging technologies in the areas of:
• Computer and Network Security Foundations
• Database Management
• Information Assurance and Security
• Network Administration
• Operating Systems
• Systems Analysis and Design
Certified by the National Security Agency, the CISS programs offer students three options:
Business Focus: Emphasize the business aspects of CISS through the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in CISS degree, which prepares you to serve in a liaison role between the Information Technology and the other business functions of an organization.
Technology Focus: For a degree focused on the technological components of CISS, you may choose to pursue either a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in CISS degree. To pursue a BAS, students must have significant prior experience.
Educational Focus: You can prepare for teacher certification through a Bachelor of Science in CISS-Education and teach technology applications to children in 8th-12th grades.
Within each of the degree plans, students may also choose an elective track that specifically suits their career goals:
• Security Track
• Web/System Administration Track
• Custom Track
