The importance of science

To understand science is to understand everything from nature to geopolitics to the world of business.

How so? Science drives the discoveries that help (and harm) our environment, cause global controversy and fuel commerce. Understanding the scientific method, helps you to understand the rigor behind medical breakthroughs or the chemistry behind global warming.

As an OLLU natural sciences major, you will “do” science in up-to-date labs getting hands-on experience with instrumentation that, at other schools, often is reserved for graduate students exclusively. We also offer opportunities for you to conduct research and participate in internships providing you with experiences employers and graduate / professional schools like to see.the lab and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to build a scientific career.
