Careers abound with a degree in criminal justice
Professional experience in the criminal justice field for each student is a key part of the Our Lady of the Lake University Criminolgy and Criminal Justice degree program. All students in the major take part in an internship to develop professional growth and leadership before graduation.
The major provides students with the knowledge and skills for a variety of careers in Criminal Justice and related fields, both private and public. Combined with the University’s minor in Forensic Science, the Criminology and Criminal Justice degree can lead to careers in crime scene investigation, both in law enforcement and with the medical examiner’s office.
Criminology and Criminal Justice majors learn from full-time professors and working professionals including crime investigators, lawyers and corrections officers. Courses in the program focus on criminal justice theory and history, law, experiential learning and skills-based learning.
Students have the opportunity to join the Criminal Justice Society and the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
The Criminology and Criminal Justice degree is offered at the main campus in San Antonio and at The Woodlands campus.
