Student Support Services (SSS)

Our Mission

Student Support Services (SSS) provides opportunities for academic development by assisting first-generation college students, students with disabilities, or financially disadvantaged students with basic college requirements as well as motivates students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education in order to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.

Eligibility Criteria
OLLU students who meet the following: 
  •     You are a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  •     You have a need for academic support
  •     And you meet one or more of the following:
    • You are a first-generation college student (neither parent has a four-year degree) OR
    • You meet low income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education OR
    • You have a documented physical or learning disability on file with the Office of Disability Services or Texas Rehabilitation Commission

Student Support Services helps students succeed

Students entering college have great challenges ahead of them, and their families back home will need to overcome some obstacles themselves. At Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), many of these students are first generation, meaning they are the first in their immediate family to attend college. The University’s TRiO Program, Student Support Services (SSS) is specifically designed to help these students to maximize their educational opportunities and to succeed.
