The Worden School of Social Service (WSSS) was the first accredited school of social work in the state of Texas, and continues to be a leader in social work education to this day. The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs prepare students to work with diverse populations, focusing on Hispanic children and families. Engaging classes and chances to participate in community projects help students develop the skills they will need as they enter the world of professional social work.
Inspired by the Congregation of Divine Providence, OLLU's founding order, the academics and support services of Worden are focused on service, community and student-centeredness. Through the many experiential learning opportunities and field experiences, Worden prepares students for professional social work practice and empowers them to grow, to graduate and to lead.
