ROOTED IN PROVIDENCE: TO GROW • TO GRADUATE • TO LEAD
OLLU STRATEGIC PLAN - 2013-2018
OLLU’s new strategic, five-year plan, Rooted in Providence: To Grow, To Graduate, and To Lead was officially rolled out on Jan. 4. The plan, developed by faculty and staff during a year-long process, was based upon OLLU's Mission, Vision, and Core Values
, input from all University constituents and market research commissioned by Deloitte and Chmura Economics and Analytics.
The plan is organized around three themes: To Grow, To Graduate and To Lead. The first theme, To Grow
, aims at increasing enrollment through new modes of program delivery and developing new degree programs, increasing fundraising, and building a campus infrastructure to support growth.
The To Graduate
theme includes plans to increase student persistence to graduation, provide more real-world learning experiences, and prepare graduates for a multicultural workforce.
Under the To Lead
theme, initiatives are designed to empower the University community to be innovative and entrepreneurial, to inspire students to examine the place of faith in their lives, and impact higher education on a national scale.
Using the Strategic Plan as a launching point, the ultimate goal for OLLU is to become one of the top 20 Catholic universities in the United States.
The group that developed the plan included faculty, staff and administration. It was led by Lamar Odom, JD, associate professor of health care management, and Mary Scotka, assistant vice president for Student Life, with assistance from consultant Dr. Ed Roach. Moving forward, the plan will be carried out by three Theme Teams. Each team includes a member of administration, faculty and staff.
