DESCRIPTION:2009 EMPTY BOWLS PROJECTThe Empty Bowls Project is being produced in partnership between the Our Lady of the Lake University Honors 2300 Class taught by Norma Andrade, the Marketing 3331 class taught by Dr. Velma Gooding and the San Antonio Food Bank. The goal is to promote the event to all University faculty, staff, students and alumni, and to get as many people to donate bowls for auctioning at the event, as well as to encourage everyone to attend the event. DETAILS:  (Download a flyer.)Date: Nov. 14, 2009Time: 1-5 p.m.Location: The Foundry, 2720 McCullough Ave.The San Antonio Food Bank is holding the Empty Bowl Event to help raise awareness about hunger issues that people face every day in San Antonio.Did you know that in San Antonio 1 in 5 people go hungry every day?65% of the people that go hungry on a daily basis have children.For every dollar donated to the San Antonio Food Bank they can provide $13 worth of food to people that need it.The OLLU Community is invited to come to the Empty Bowl Event and help raise awareness about hunger and raise money to help the San Antonio Food Bank.
